“Overall we would say the NZXT Tempest EVO chassis is aimed towards computer enthusiasts and gamers who are looking for an attractive and well-featured chassis at a modest price range.  The NZXT Tempest EVO is available with an average price of about $110 USD, and occasionally for as little as $90 at the time of this review.  We believe this is a reasonable price in a tough competitive market filled with literally hundreds of competitors available in this price range.  The NZXT Tempest EVO is a good all-around case for those who need some nice aesthetics and features but don’t want to break the bank or compromise quality as a result.”

" The Tempest EVO brings many small improvements over the original Tempest.  Again, attention to details is key. The right-side panel has had a styling change to more closely match the window leaving more room for routing cables behind the motherboard tray. We also see NZXT's nine-blade black and white fans, claimed to move more air at lower noise levels. We don't know if there was an airflow improvement but the fans sure are quiet while moving a respectable amount of air. Another appreciated change was the inclusion of a large CPU cooler cutout in the motherboard tray. While it is touted as the the "Airflow King Reborn," the Tempest EVO should not be considered strictly on expected temperature improvements.  As shown in our performance testing, it really only stayed on par when compared to a budget case. We were unimpressed with a couple other things, that are not necessarily deal breakers, but they should be mentioned. The 5.25" to external 3.5" adapter didn't fit well and needed a screw to secure in place. And the filter bracket for the PSU intake filter was a bit cheap and flimsy as well. Sometimes the details make the Tempest EVO, sometimes they break it. Overall we love the looks, were excited about the near-silent design and were satisfied by the cooling.  Most enclosures in the same price range come as a true barebones box. The Tempest EVO comes with multiple fans, a tool-less option, intake filters, a tinted side window and an all-black paint job. That's where the Tempest shines- this case really has a lot of extras for a reasonably priced case.  It may not be the very best at everything, and it's not without flaws, but it sure is a well-rounded case, worthy of having any system built inside it."

“After using the Tempest EVO for several days I have been able to distance myself from the Raven 02 and concentrate on the NZXT product. The cable routing is decent; the fans are not too loud and the cooling overall is very effective. The blue LED lighting is subtle enough not to be intrusive and it allows the front of the chassis to exude an air of class. When weighing all factors the Tempest EVO is priced in the right ball park and earns our Worth Buying Award. It is currently available in the UK for around the £85 mark which puts it in line with direct competition such as the Antec 900.

Don't steal the case, NZXT needs your money to keep doing these things right. If they keep doing cases like this, they deserve it. For what it is, it's the perfect case. Anything I want done differently there is enough support to do it. It's all I can ask for, and it's enough for me.”

“The NZXT Tempest EVO provides an impressive combination of component capacity and flexibility. Great care and thought, likely with lots of customer feedback, went into refining this successor to the original Tempest case. Most of the changes made were not to enhance the performance directly but focused on enhancing the user experience by reducing noise levels, making the components more accessible and increasing the longevity of case parts. The appearance is sleek and conservatively styled, not screaming for attention yet implying that something powerful is contained within, while the LED accenting tastefully serves to outline the form, indicate activity and add a distinctive touch of bling that contributes to the expression of quality and pride in ownership.”

“If you use air cooling, there is no doubt you will be pleased with the performance this case offers. Likewise, if you use a lot of hard drives and want a mid-tower case, this one is hard to beat. It also looks great, even if a little sharp and 80’s-tastic. It’s definitely a great way to show off your system, with just enough bling to be tasteful but not enough to be gaudy. There are many, many worse things you could do with $109.99 (regularly $89.99 with mail-in rebate as of 4/3/10 at Newegg) than purchasing this case. Water cooling enthusiasts that want an internally radiated solution should look elsewhere, but for everyone else, the NZXT Tempest EVO is most definitely Overclockers approved!”
